In this unit, I learned how to deal with the common problems that english teachers face when teaching english as a foreign language. We need to be mindful of the students skill level which will affect their learning speeds. We need to make sure we provide assistance to the slow learners and we need to make sure we don't bore the fast learners. Using the students' native tongue in class should have limited use. It should only be used if it is necessary to explain the concept to the students. We also need to make sure we make the students go through all material. For example, if the students are having trouble with listening to cassette recorders, we should not be skipping this part. Listening is an important skill set and the students need to be given opportunities to practice their listening skills.
