This unit provided a brief overview of the phonology of the English language. For English speakers, manner things like articulation, stress, and intonation come naturally, and so we might overlook these topics when teaching. However, pronunciation is an important part of learning a language, and can often be difficult for language learners, especially if we are the first native speaker that they encounter. I have only briefly studied phonemes before, but I think it will be helpful to include the usage of some phonemes in order to explain difficult sounds and spellings.
