The videos in this unit showed two ways in which an ESL teacher conducted his class. In the first video, it obviously showed that the students were confused and unsure about their answers to the questions of the teacher. There was no clear demonstration of the lessons from the beginning to the end stage. While on the second video, the teacher started the class with a more comfortable atmosphere by making warm greetings, learning their names individually and made a board presentation about the lesson before engaging them. Further,before the study phase,he also made several examples and elicited answers from the students for the initial part of the exercises before giving them the worksheet. Finally, he activated them. I observed that the students understood the lesson from their output. In conclusion, for a lesson to be successful, it is important for the teacher to present a concrete example of the lesson,properly demonstrate it before proceeding with the other phases of teaching and build a good rapport to encourage active participation of the students.
