In this unit we got to watch the same ESA lesson be taught two different times to a group of Thai students. The videos show the importance of the role of teacher in a classroom and how we as teachers can influence our students. These videos also showed the importance of body language, tone of voice and facial expressions in influencing students. The first few minuets in the classroom seems to be important in setting the tone for the lesson. The videos demonstrated ways to engage the students into participating in class, such as visual aides, making eye contact and having vocab that is appropriate for the lesson. The first lesson also showed that it is possible for a teacher to ask to many follow up questions and cause further confusion in a lesson.
