This unit discusses effective ways to teach productive skills, incorporating both accuracy and fluency. First, the unit discusses teaching speaking skills, including reasons why students may be reluctant to speak and how teachers can encourage all students to speak. The unit provides two sample activities/lessons. In the second part of the unit, the text discusses elements of written communication (spelling, punctuation, etc.) and then presents a sample creative writing lesson plan. The text also provides a list of games that can be used for teaching, which I feel taught me how elements of fun can increase students' motivation and progress.
