This unit was so helpful because it has many examples of what different games and lessons could look like. I also really like that it not only stated the advantages and disadvantages of a text book, but gave a good amount of alternatives. I learned that authentic materials are a great way to switch up topics in the classroom, but not necessarily a good resource for lower-level learners. When using authentic materials, I like the freedom that teachers are given of what activity to do with the material. That is a major perk!
