This unit presents overviews of present tenses: present simple, present perfect, present continuous, and present perfect continuous. The unit gives examples of each, strategies for teaching them, and common mistakes concerning each. While studying this unit, I realized that many of the tenses I have a "feeling" for as a native speaker are governed by rules that are difficult to explain. Additionally, there are many exceptions. Studying present tense grammar rules gave me more concrete explanations for why certain present tense phrases are common and why others are not used.
