This unit examines course materials, how to choose them, and how to produce them. It begins by discussing authentic and created materials, shows numerous examples of created materials, and ends with a discussion of course books. It analyzes benefits and drawbacks of course books, how to choose them, and how to adapt them to suit the class's needs. While studying this unit, I believe I have gained insight into how my own foreign language teachers adapted their course books to suit their classes. I thought about what worked well for me as a learner and what did not.
