This unit covers the teaching of productive skills which are writing and speaking.
In the first part we focus on speaking activities and we learn there are accuracy activities such as drilling which focus mainly on the student's correct use of English and fluency activities such as group discussions or debates in which we want the students speak as much as possible and experiment with the language. We also learn ways in which to make the students speak as much as possible.. avoid sensitive topics, choose interesting topics, give more pair and group work.
The second part of the unit focus on writing. The most important factors are handwriting, layout, spelling and punctuation. we then see an example of a typical ESA lesson in which students learn how to write a topic. I found this part very interesting and got many new ideas for my lessons.
At the end of the unit we find a list of sites where we can find educational games. I have had a look at these sites and downloaded many of them. It was very valuable.
