This unit talks about conditionals and reported speech used in the English language. What are conditionals? Simply put, if this happens then that happens, whether the situations we talk about is factual or completely impossible and anything in between those two.
Most ESL students find the conditionals hard to digest, due to their complexity in structure and to their changes in verb tenses and pronouns.
What is reported speech? An extremely simple description of reported speech would be that, it usually involves at least three people where one person tells something directly to the second person then he/she reports what has been said to the third person.
Both of these language points can be difficult to learn and to teach. That is why teachers are advised to proceed meticulously, involving plenty of activities around these when teaching them.
I really liked the teaching ideas included in this unit regarding both points.
