While the conditional part of speech is a little easier to understand and therefore possibly teach, the direct speech to reported speech part is tricky and would probably take extra teaching. Depending on the class and skills, the direct to reported speech section may also require some reteaching of verb tenses to reinforce the different forms. It would also probably be best to teach this type of form near or with the other grammar forms that were being taught (i.e. teach the tenses and then conditionals soon after).
