This Unit discusses the topic of selecting new vocabulary and the criteria of appropriacy, frequency, teachability that it should be based on. Furthermore, what students will need to know about the new vocabulary in order to learn. The text then gives examples of activities that are appropriate to learn for each stage of the lesson plan. For example, Engage phase can consists of realia and pictures to engage students and explain the meanings. Word searches and cross words can be used in the study phase. Finally in the activate phase, debates and role play would be ideal activities. I think this unit is a good reminder on the importance of proper vocabulary selection as well as the ideal methods in teaching them to students.
