This unit provided information about the various types of tests and assessments which institutions and teachers give to different individuals. There are various reasons for conducting such tests and assessments, ranging from the necessity to place an individual at the correct level based on their proficiency, through to a need to monitor progress throughout a course in order that deficiencies in learning can be addressed, and ultimately preparation for, and the taking of external examinations. It was an interesting unit, and I have already administered a diagnostic test on a student, so I was familiar with this aspect.
