Unit 11 covered the receptive skills of reading and listening. It looked at how we read and listen and the different methods we use when doing so. One of these is scanning, looking for a specific keyword, when we are looking for specific information. Another method is skimming through an article to get the general idea of the topic. I found this unit very useful as it offered a good approach to teaching reading and listening in the structured environment of the classroom.
