This unit gave brief descriptions of several methodologies used in EFL teaching and learning. Then it discussed in depth the various components of an EFL lesson. It gave lists of typical activities for the Engage, Study, and Activate phases of a lesson. Lastly, it talked about giving feedback, specifically, how and when to correct mistakes or errors in the different phases of an lesson. I learned that there many varied methodologies used, which each have their own advantages and disadvantages. The ESA method has many advantages, as it gives the teacher a great deal of flexibility and also encourages students to discover language for themselves.
