There are different ways to assess a student's language level. Tutorials, evaluations by students and tests. There are a lot of different tests students can do. Placement tests are used to understand the starting level of each student, progress tests are used to see how effective the lessons are and achievement tests are used at the end of a course to see what the students achieved throughout the Whole period of English learning experience. Students who want to participate to external examinations are eager to do some practice tests. These tests have the same format and structure as the real external examinations.
