Most of this section does not apply to the type of teaching I do, as the students are all adults, all want to attend classes, and I usually do not have the advantage of overhead projectors and other technology. The seating arrangements are fixed in that we use "borrowed" facilities. Nevertheless, I learned several good things about how to work with individual students. The idea of changing pairs is one I am eager to try now, as I think it may encourage some students to participate more.
