This unit explores the four aspects of the past tense (the past simple, the past continuous, the past perfect and the past perfect continuous), their structures or forms and their usages.
Some of the topics in this unit builds on my knowledge on the previous unit, the present tense. The handout provided examples that contrast and compare the past tense with the present tense to show similarities and differences in order to easily understand how the structures of the verbs are formed. It is good to note as well that this unit covers common or typical mistakes/errors with the past tense so as to avoid them in writing and speaking.
The handout and the corresponding video delivered interesting and meaningful activities to use in the activate stage of the lesson. These exercises or activities focus on form and use to give students practice of and to develop accuracy in both.
