Lesson planning is an important and flexible part of teaching. Some teachers jot down bullet points while others write detailed plans. Having a lesson plan is beneficial for establishing learning objectives, having a general outline to follow, and keeping a record of what has been done in class. While creating a lesson plan is helpful, a teacher should never script out what they are going to say or be too inflexible. Teachers must be able to adapt to the needs of their students. There are many different ways to create a lesson plan, but I liked the template provided in the chapter. Generally, it is good to include information such as the level of the students, the learning objectives for the students, teaching goals for the teacher, and foreseeable problems and solutions to these challenges. Then the teacher can plan out specific activities, noting how long they should take, what type of interaction will take place, and what phase of the lesson it is.
