Learning how to manage a classroom has been a wonderful learning experience for me. One of the most important aspects I learned in this unit is that class arrangement, group arrangement, and even gestures are vital to student success. For instance, you don’t want to put a large class in a horseshoe style group arrangement because these are meant for small class sizes.
Working in pairs is another essential component for classroom management. Ensuring that this is a part of all of my lesson plans will be essential if I want my students to maintain interest during the lesson.
In terms of disciplining students, being that I plan to teach online, this will be a unique area for me. I am sure I will run into it and when I do I’ll be sure to address it quickly, positively, and according to policy. Knowing that everyone wants a peaceful learning environment I will be a peacemaker.
