Because English is our native tongue we don't sit back and analyze what method is used in order to read, speak, write, and comprehend our language. This lesson was helpful in that it broke down the receptive skills. In order for me to be successful as a teacher, I want to, 1. choose material that interests the students 2. use realistic comprehension tasks that aid understanding. This is just a few of the methods I need to put into practise.
