This unit covered the major parts of speech in English, their usage, irregular forms of them, and common challenges English learners face when learning them. There were a handful of parts of speech that I had never been explicitly taught, so learning what they are and how they are used formally was very helpful to me. This will allow me to better teach students how to use these parts of speech themselves. Additionally, I found all of the commentary on points that students find challenging very helpful as it gives me a good idea of what to expect when I do teach these and I will be better prepared to address those challenges when they come up.
