The unit tells generally about past tenses of Enlglish language with all the usages and forms. By experiene past tenses are the most tricky, difficult and confusing part for students both young children and adults. I many cases I see similarities between past tenses in English and past tenses in Spanish, as I work mostly with Spanish students. As far as I can rememeber from my teaching practice in Russia, the continious forms and the Perfect tenses are the most hard to understand and even harder to put them into speech. I believe those difficulties are the result of linguistic differencies between slavic and germanic languages, yet there are some aspects which somehow appear alike between germanic languages and romanic ones (as Spanish).
