In this unit i learned that speaking and writing are two productive skills that students will need to acquire when learning to speak or write in english language. I also learned that accuracy activities are controlled while fluency activities allows the students to explore and show their creativity with the language. However, none is greater than each they are equally important. There are different techniques that teachers can use to encourage students to communicate effectively or stimulate students interaction such as using pair work, change classroom dynamics to name a few.
Not many students will have good handwriting skills or penmanship but it is of paramount importance that students understand basic rules in writing such as spelling, layout, and punctuation. Games are useful in teaching as it creates and adds interest to the lesson. Games can be used to any age group when teaching. However there should clear, accurate and concise instructions given before the game is being introduced or played.
