I learned that receptive skills are specific aspect of learning English and that a teacher can effectively convey these skills by allowing students to practice both in a classroom setting, where material of potential interest to students is presented in both spoken and written form. While reading and listening are specific skills in and of themselves, they are also useful in terms of building vocabulary and familiarity with grammar and usage.
