In this unit, I’ve learnt about the different aspects of pronunciation. What to appreciate, and what to focus and recognise when teaching it to students. The phonetic script was particularly difficult and I was relieved to learn that the actual chart isn’t an effective teaching tool. Instead, I would like to use demonstrations, and tapping along with the sentences to try and actively engage students to learnt the correct pronunciations and intonations to optimise their speaking and thus further increase their confidence.
