In this unit, we learned the four present tenses, including its usages and example sentences, typical student errors, teaching ideas for the Active stage of ESA, and its form. As a native English speaker from Canada, I found this lesson helpful and vital to the understanding of the present tense. However, when doing the test, I found that the material covered in the unit insufficient for me to answer some questions with confidence. Perhaps, it would be better to give more complex example sentences that deviate slightly from the form/structure provided but are still written within the parameters of the grammar point/tense (including an example more complex than/that deviates from "He works" for an affirmative form of a Present Simple sentence). I believe that this will be helpful because the sentences on the test are slightly more complex and deviate from the basic form provided, which will then allow for more confidence answering questions, and less confusion along the way.
