In this unit we looked at the receptive skills of reading and listening. We learned that there are four equally important skills in using a language, and we looked at how we actually receive information has people, and then used that perspective to inform how we may structure a lesson. In particular, the distinction between authentic and inauthentic texts and their pros and cons for different language learners was not something I had thought about.
