This unit covered what makes good teachers and learners, roles of teachers, levels of English learners, differences between adult and young learners, and motivations for studying English. Before this unit, I did not realize how many roles a teacher can play. Looking back, I have learned what roles my language professors preferred and what I found to be more effective or more enjoyable. I think it is important to have a mix of many roles in a lesson or at least every few lessons, because different people learn better in different ways. In order for every student to have an equal opportunity to excel in their English language studies, it is important to teach in a variety of ways.
