I learned what receptive skills are when referring to ESL and that they are reading and listening. I learned how to distinguish different reasons for listing or reading in daily life and how they are all important and when they are used. I learned to cater to different levels of students with a variety or non-authentic an authentic texts and materials. I learned to engage my students with pieces of media, characters, famous persons, sports and texts that they are already interested in.
