This chapter helped me discover many useful tools for teaching in the classroom. Because I have not had a ton of experience in teaching this is particularly helpful so that I have many different ways to help the students make the connections that are needed. I had forgotten about overhead projectors honestly as a tool but after reading this chapter I remembered my own education and how useful a tool it is. The many gap filling activities you can use an OHP for will help me minimize teacher talk time and time spent with my back to the classroom. White boards are also an effective tool to use because often times when a student can see the way a sentence is supposed to look it is easier to pick up on the pattern and to follow it. Visual aids and worksheets may be the most common tools I have seen used by teachers but they are common for a reason; they are effective. It is important to mix it up too and to use many tools so that you are covering each way of learning for your students and keeping them interested and involved in the material.
