This unit taught me about the advantages to using course books and authentic materials in the classroom as well as it’s disadvantages. I learned that I will get the chance to be creative with the created materials I use and that nothing in teaching is as rigid as I thought. A teacher must be willing to adapt to any situation based on what is best for her students. Sure a course syllabus is good to have as an outline but it is by no means the only rules you should stick to, because there are some activities and lessons that are better suited for your class than others, and different methods to get the same point across.
