Unit 14 explained the pros and cons of using various teaching materials. The first of which were authentic materials (newspaper articles, magazine articles, radio recordings, etc.). These are great, because they allow the students to use real life materials that can be of interest to them. The second option was any non-authentic material (crosswords, word-searches, role-playing cards, etc.). These are useful, because they can be made to cater to the students' English ability. The last was using a course book to help teach the material. This is great because it can give the teacher structure, but can also cause the teacher to become lazy.
