Thinking back on my one on one classes and group classes, I enjoyed asking opinions, ideas, and experiences from my students as I see it as an opportunity for students to practice expressing themselves in the language they are studying and in the lesson they are relating from. However, I do get silence at times and maybe I should have rephrased my questions, prompted more and in some instances, I should not have pushed for responses if they are not comfortable. Factors like cultural, personal and the like might have hindered them from doing so. I could have just then moved on with the class and treated it as maybe guide questions allowing some reflecting moments in the classroom.
