As it was written/told in the unit 8; The future tenses are the most complex areas of the English language. I see no reason why learning the future tense is complex( hard to learn) rather than complex( easy to learn). While studying this unit, I successfully understood how the different forms of tenses take place in the learner's encounter with the English language. A student has to know to distinguish the differences between the Past, Present and Future tense. In unit 8 I came across; Future Simple The future continuous The future perfect The future perfect continuous Going to-future Present Simple ( used for future events) Present Continuous ( used for future events) Through out this unit I learned many new techniques of activate part that have to do with Future tenses. I learnt on contractions; specifically the form / shan't / is used in UK only. Usages of the Future Simple are the most spread ones different from the other tenses; future simple tenses are often used for: a) Future facts and certainties b) Promises c) Predictions d) Assumptions/speculations e) Spontaneous decisions f) threats etc. Usages of the Future Continuous( some of them) : a) To say that something will be in progress at the particular moment in the future. b) To 'predict the present' to say what we think of guess what might be happening now. A future continuous teaching idea that I specifically liked was;the illustrative situation where you have to make up a scenario and explain it through Future continuous. The Future Perfect is really easily formed. In the Future perfect we use Have alongside will so it creates and e.g. Annamae will have participated in the program but she was too old. Also, the future perfect is used to say that something will have been done or achieved by a certain time in the future. Last but not least. The Future perfect continuous is a less used tense that is formed by: Will+have+been+verb+ing. Usage: we can use the FPC to sat how long something will have been continued by a certain time in the future. I also strongly reviewed the Going to- Future tense; Some teaching ideas that got my attention were; itinerary from the courier and listening to songs that contain a lot of going to tenses.
