Although this unit was not as lengthy as some of the other units it still covered a range of important topics. Eye contact, gestures and voice control play an important role in managing a class room. If not used correctly you can easily lose control of a class room by offending students or creating a boring environment.
The way a teacher chooses to group students and the class room also plays an important role. If a teacher does not take all factors into consideration such as the space available or students personalities it could be a recipe for disaster. I believe it would be beneficial to use different grouping methods throughout the life of the class to ensure each benefit of certain grouping methods are obtained and maximized.
Many other topics are covered in detail such as writing on the board, giving individual attention, teacher talking time, giving instructions and establishing rapport.
