The phonetics terms are very difficult for me as a teacher, in my daily classes, I will never teach the students anything about the terms. Instead, I think to imitate is a good way to learn pronunciation. Get the student listen to the sounds native speakers make, and try to repeat it. It is even more helpful if that could be recorded, and replayed for the students to compare. It is easier for students to learn if they can really try it, instead of looking at the International Phonetic Alphabet.
