I learned the basic types of tests we will be giving as teachers and how to help our students prepare for the external exams once they leave the classroom. The purpose of the first two tests of the year, the placement and diagnostic tests, is important to be able to find out the base for the student’s knowledge of the target language. Then the progress tests are important to see what the students are retaining from class and what topics might need revisiting for further exploration. And lastly the practice exams for helping the students learn what the external exams will be like and exactly how to help them pass such exams. This was important to note the difference in these tests because you must use all of them if you want to be an effective teacher.
