This unit gave an overview of the study phases of a lesson and the stages in which new vocabulary or new language structures should be taught. I have learnt helpful frameworks to introduce a language in a balanced and meaningful way. Different ESA methods are helpful for introducing specific kinds of lessons, e.g. straight-arrow approaches for new vocabulary and boomerang or patchwork approaches for function-based lessons.
