The two words that really caught my attention in this unit were receptive and productive, under the teaching vocabulary section. People that have been exposed to a language, before formally trying to learn it, are usually very surprise about how much they actually understand. When I tutor conversational English, I always tell the group that they know more than they think they do. Once we get started and they are allow to play with the words and talk freely, they realize they do know a lot more of the language.
