This unit is about teaching special groups. In English language teaching, the teacher will unlikely teach to only one group of students, but will come across other type of groups, each one of them having specific needs and features. The groups are beginners, individuals, young learners, English for special purposes (business English) and multilingual classes. Some of these groups have specific requirements: for example, young learners will need to be taught by using simple language and lessons should be fun and stimulating. Lessons must not be boring, otherwise disruptive behaviour can be expected. On the other hand, business English classes have their own problems: student-workers can be tired after a day's work and not all of them have the same language level.
