Unit 7 deals with the actual teaching of vocabulary, grammar and language functions. It is indeed a difficult task to explain the rules of grammar and language functions to someone who doesn't have practice with the English language. This unit has given me tips to tackle these difficulties and for the teaching of English grammar and vocabulary through the Engage-Study-Activate method. Through the use of various tools and exercises at each of these stages, the teaching of English grammar, vocabulary and language functions becomes easier and more fun for the student. The unit has also taught me when to use a straight arrow ESA lesson and when to switch to a boomerang or patchwork lesson while handling these aspects of language teaching.
