Unit #9 is the most informative lesson thus far. For inexperienced teachers like myself, lesson planning can be a daunting prospect. However, this unit helped me better understand the framework necessary to plan a lesson, administer a lesson, and improve a lesson. The provided blank lesson planning sheet, self-evaluation form, sample activities, and sample lesson plans, are incredibly helpful and have given me a better perspective on what will be required to present, modify, and improve a lesson. As I went through the unit I kept finding myself imagining all the times in class and retrospectively observing the actions of my former teachers: making sure the projector is working, arriving before students, organizing lesson materials before class started, greeting students and being available for discussion, changing their lessons due to constraints on time, adding things to their lessons because of excess time, and collecting feedback from students to revise future lessons; all of which were well documented in the unit. Personally, it all seems like a lot to keep track of at any given time, but as an inexperienced teacher, I presume that managing these many dimensions will get easier with practice and experience. However, there will always be room for improvement: the true motto of a good teacher!
