This unit gave an overview of the desirable characteristics of both teachers and learners. I found it important that this unit emphasized the need for teachers to be learner-centric while also reflecting on their own abilities and performance, e.g., teachers should know when to keep some level of distance so that learners can work things out for themselves. This course also offered ways to identify different types of learners by their language level and the best ways to motivate them to continue their learning.
