This unit was about using course books and materials to supplement lessons. Authentic materials such as real life menus, news report, etc. can be used to have students address real life topics and become more confident with addressing those topics. Created materials can be used to supplement lessons and are easily catered to students. Although there are many advantages to using course books, it is important to not rely too much on them. It is important to make lessons more interesting by having other materials. This lesson was useful as I feel as I would have relied too much on course books as many of my language classes relied on them. Learning how to use them effectively while using other material was helpful.
