This unit shows the patchwork that is required to teach foreign languages. One has to learn their vocab, grammar, and the concepts and functions of language to succeed. It is vital that the students fully grasp their vocabulary as they are the actual building blocks of any language. With out that understanding, students will struggle with simple grammatical concepts. Furthermore, having a larger productive vocabulary will help them better utilize the language functions we will cover in class. The next step is to understand where that new word fits into a sentence, its different forms, and how it may affect that sentence.
