Creating a lesson plan for students can be very tricky, because not only are you creating a learning environment for the students but are also figuring out where their heads are in the language. This can create a wide-variety of scenarios, but with a lesson plan it gives structure to how to educate them best. Even with structure, one has to be flexible as a teacher, by observing what the students need to learn, rather than just sticking to what the teacher had in mind. For example, they might understand present perfect much easier than present perfect continuous, so time, in the classroom, would have to adjust to better suit the students with the latter of the present tense. I will definitely need to start out with a structured lesson plan, maybe like the one demonstrated in this unit, but I would be attentive and flexible to my students' needs, by altering the lesson plan to better their understanding of the language.
