This unit about teaching production skills taught me about how to teach students English speaking and writing. Speaking and writing are equally important to learning English in their own ways. The unit highlighted the differences between focusing on accuracy and fluency. Each has their necessary function in lessons. Typically, accuracy is a focus of the study phase and fluency is a focus of the activate phase. This is because fluency is more important while communicating so that the students are able to communicate freely without having to be frequently stopped by the teacher to point out errors and make corrections.
