This unit was a helpful reminder of basic English grammar. I knew most of the parts of speech well enough. It was certainly helpful to refresh my definition of the parts of speech. I benefited more from reviewing the grammar rules discussed in this unit. I now have a much better idea of these rules. I believe I can offer better explanations for these rules after this completing this unit. The amount of exceptions to these rules, however, has renewed my appreciation for the difficulty of learning the English language as a foreign language. I will continue to reflect on this unit as I have realized explaining the rules of English grammar will not be an easy task.
