This unit was about using evaluation and testing to get a better sense of where your students are at with their level of English. Placement test can be used to determine the level at where the student should be placed in. Diagnostic test are similar to placement test but are usually at the beginning of a course to give the teacher a better sense of what students should work on. Progress test are used throughout the class to see what students retain and what should be focused more on. Practice test are used to help students test their skills and prepare for external exams. This unit was useful in providing me the different types of evaluations and how they can be used to better teach students.
